1 IDE and 2 SATA

My mobo has 1 IDE and 2 SATA connectors.
Computer has one HDD and one optical drive.

I will open the case to check, but am assuming the optical is on the IDE.

Can I get a SATA optical to replace my dead DVD burner, then?

Am not going to add an HDD, so 2nd SATA...
